REIMAGINING THE FUTURE with Afrikan and Caribbean Mythology and Folk Tales:
This workshop will present a historical, visual overview on how mythology and folk tales have informed popular culture and the Afrikan aesthetic and culture across the diaspora. We will also explore how we can tap into Afrika's and the Caribbean's rich mythology to produce transformative, revolutionary art.
Had the pleasure of doing a presentation at the Black Speculative Arts Movement gathering in Montreal (Concordia University) on September 23rd, 2017 on Re-Imagining the Future through Afrikan and Caribbean Mythology and Folklore. In this photo is renowned scholar, activist and author of Afrofuturism 2.0: The Rise of Astro Blackness, Reynaldo Anderson, who also spoke as part of the panel on Black Radical Futures.
